The leading states
Uttar Pradesh leads with roughly 33,900 leather companies, followed by Maharashtra (~29,900) and Tamil Nadu (~16,300), the latter long associated with India’s leather and footwear clusters. Delhi, West Bengal and Rajasthan round out the top of the list.
